I have successfully installed my OS with help from here. Next I want to
install various software that is required for my application to execute. Once
this is completed I want to create a 'image' of this VM which I want to
duplicate for each version of the software. For example have one image for
ProdVersion1, ProdVersion2, etc. I don't want to have to create, install OS,
install software, etc for each one? I want to have all software in the VM and
then install the individual versioned products on each VM?

Is this possible? Can anyone point to anything that can help with questions
like this, for example a walk-through, examples, etc?

I have not followed your prior steps, but as a long since user of VPC I tell
you: just copy the just made VPC by copying all the VMC ( configuration
file), and VHD ( virtual Hard Disk file) files to another location and you
have "cloned" your machine.

goog point, it is very interesting, but in this case MAKE SURE you use
newsid from www.sysinternals.com to create a new unique sid for each
machine.
