cannot get to domain

I have built a domain out of two servers (running server2003 sp1) and
two xp clients. On my DC I have one nic designated. On one server and
the two workstations, I have two nics designated (the first one being
NAT and the second being the physical card of the computer.) I am
running Virtual PC 2004.

My issue seems that I am getting intermittant connectivity to the
company domain from my DC and other machines are non existant. I am
trying to connect to my company's domain by
start->run->\\domainname.local\server.

I am getting cannot find network message. From the dc, I am getting
intermittant signals when pinging the gateway. Even when reaching the
gateway, I get this issue.

Thanks did not help.

My DC in the virtual domain eventually gets to the server I need access
to in my work domain. Until then the message comes up "No provider
accepted the given network path."

Also my workstations cannot ping the gateway that was set up.

Thank you for your help. I am beginning to understand this stuff.

Now. How do I get my Virtual XP clients to ping my gateway. The
gateway is the gateway for an actual subnet on the network.

Should I use Loopbacks on my clients and run then all through a NAT?

What happens if you set NIC 1 to 'not connected'? Also - do you have
any idea why NIC 2 does not have a gateway?
