Relocate VirtualDisks to different drive

I have attached a USB external harddisk to my laptop and would like to
relocate my files to the external drive.

I cannot find steps for doing this help file, Did I miss it?

I am sure this has been asked ad nausem... could someone direct me to a site
where this is covered that a non-developer could follow.

It's a simple answer... 1) Copy the .vhd & .vhc files to your USB drive. 2)
If you want the USB drive to be the default filesystem where VMs will be
located, you can set the environment variable "MYVIRTUALMACHNES=F:\Virtual
Machines" (for instance). 3) Then from the Virtaual PC Console, click New...
and add an Existing Virtual Machine (which simply adds the VM(s) back to the
list of VMs in the console's list.

Shut down Virtual PC

Copy your files to your hard disk

Restart Virtual PC. It will complain that it can't find various VPCs. Choose
to "remove" them.

You can now add the VPCs back in again, either manually via the VPC main
window, or by just double-clicking the .vmc file. As long as the relative
path between the .vmc file and the .vhd has remained the same, VPC will work
out where the VHD file is. If the relative positions of the vmc and vhd
files has changed (e.g. you left the .vmc file on your local disk, and just
moved the vhd file to your external disk), then open the .vmc file using
Notepad, and update the following XML nodes:

<pathname>
<absolute type="string">F:\VPCs\test.vhd</absolute>
<relative type="string">.\test.vhd</relative>
</pathname>

As long as you don't have a lot of VPCs, this is probably the quickest way.
