VPC problems with serial i/o

Hi all,

I seem to be runniing into problems getting VPC to work with a serial write.

Currently, I have VPC configured to connect the virtual serial port (COM1)
to a named pipe hosted by a pipe server application.

The program running in VPC is a MS DOS program and accesses a 16550 UART
directly and transmits at 115,200 baud. When it tries to write data it
returns a buffer overflow error.

The named pipe is checked every 1 ms and has 1024 byte read and write
buffers to hold interim data. The amount of data being transferred is less
than this.

I'm confused as to what could be going wrong. Being that less than 1024
bytes of data is transmitted during the test how it is possible to receive an
overflow error?

One guess is maybe the virtual serial port is not trasnferring data from the
virtual UART to the named pipe fast enough... is there any known history of
problems like this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Stan
