Vista Beta 1 Build 5112

Message:

I received a copy of Vista Beta 1 Build 5112 from my school who has a
licensing contract with Microsoft to provide students with software while
they are taking classes. I've been trying to install it to VPC and so far
have been unsuccessful (I've posted her prior to this.) The problem is the
validation code is not being accepted during the install. I've partitioned
the VHD, which is required by this Build, with no joy. I've set the VHD to
a specific size rather than have it be Dynamic, I thought maybe that might
make a difference, but no joy. I got a new validation code from my
instructor with no joy. I still get the Windows cannot verify your
validation code error after I enter it in. The instructor tells me the
code should be good. I'm wondering if there's something else going on that
I'm missing that's causing the validation code to be rejected. I'm using
VPC 2004, Build 582. I have not tried using the VPC Add-ins, would this
help? Host computer is running Windows XP Pro with all updates and has 1GB
RAM. I've set the RAM for the VMC at 700MB which was suggested by my
instructor. I'm at a loss, my instructor tells me it should install, and
he has run it for demonstration purposes during our class on his system
there. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Patty
