Virtual PC causing network havoc

Source: microsoft.public.virtualpc

Hello all,

The developers at the company I work for are using VPC for product testing.
They're all copying the same virtual PC. I believe this is causing network
issues.

When Virtual PCs are running I see thousands of packets going across each
machine a second, opposed to a handful. My initial line of thought was the
duplicated MAC addresses on the VPCs, which have now been removed. Every now
and then this issue does reappear though, with semmingly unique MAC addresses.

The packets being sent are just duplicated packets, I don't feel Virtual PC
is the sole cause here but it seems a bit much for traffic to always
origionating from a VPC. It's almost as if there's a physical looped cable
somewhere, but that's not the case. The only resolution is to restart both
our semi-managed switches, until it happens again a few hours down the line.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what may be causing this ?
