CPU (without hyperthreading)
and restoring the machine on other host with pentiumD 2.8 CPU?

pleae say it's possible and that the host will not crash.... (doesn't matter
what it runs...)

To do what you want, the CPU would need to be emulated, instead of
virtualized, which would degrade a VM's performance considerably.

a virtual environment.
and you don't expect a laptop and a pc/server to have the same CPU.
but as a pratical use of VPC to move a virtual machine from host to host it
is required.

maybe if the guest is not using any CPU specific feature
or the VPC settings to "lower" the CPU features for this specific guest to
some common level that will enable the guest to be able to move on host
platforms will be nice addition, isn't it?
