AIM wont connect using Virtual PC 2004

Hi everyone, I hope you may be able to help with a little issue I have.

I should of course firstly mention: my main host system is a 3.4Ghz
Intel P4, with 2Gb of ram, running Windows XP Pro (+SP2)

To connect to the internet I use a USB ADSL modem. Everything works
fine like this on my main host pc. AOL/AIM connects and logs me in fine
and I can chat with no problems, Web browsing is also fine, etc etc.

Using Virtual PC 2004 (v5.3.582 ?) I have two virtual installations of
windows:

1) Win 98 SE
2) And another Win XP Pro (+SP2)

Using the "Shared networking (NAT)" setting for both, I am fully
able to browse WebPages in both my guest PCs with no trouble either,
however..

I have installed AOL/AIM 5.5 inside both of them.. But when I try to
connect AIM returns the following error:

"Connection lost: Check your internet connection"

Any ideas? I'm guessing it's to do with the translation from the
Virtual PCs into my host OS. Possibly something to do with the fact
"Shared networking (NAT)" can only support basic internet functions
perhaps?

Thanks in advance! I you require any more info, feel free to ask.
