Myself being in the IT industry, this little program, (which we tried many
variants) is the best tool for building, testing and developing without
having the need of a secondary PC, hence cost saving! The best bit is that
you don't have to mess around with your current installation that works
perfectly on your machine. Regrettably there are still a few issues but
nothing that's going to halt your progress completely! So if you want to
tinker around on an OS and screw it up accidentally, this tool is a MUST!

hardware platform but it might be good enough.

VMware is best, IMHO, for running Linux.
