shared networking problems

Message:

I installed VPC7 on a G5 running MacOS X Server 10.4.3, copied a VPC6
virtual machine from another mac, converted it to VPC7 and started it
up. OK so far. But shared networking is broken. The interface
receives info via DHCP, but it can't reach the DNS server. VPC creates
and bridges the subnet 192.168.131 on my internal 10.0.1 network. From
WindowsXP I can ping all nodes by IP - except the DNS server.

I installed VPC7 on that other mac, re-copied the new virtual machine,
and ... drumroll ... it works fine, including DNS!

My G5 has two ethernet interfaces and my real aim is to use the virtual
switch "feature" on the extra one. But, of course, it's broken and
will be fixed "soon".

Any suggestion on how to get shared networking going? Thanks.
