In our organization we are considering alternatives of securing an internal
network, but still allow its users to access the Email.
We have configured a Win XP PC without any network connection, and defined 2
Virtual PCs in it. One is connected to the Internet and the other is
connected to the internal network.
My question is, whether this is a recommended use of VirtualPC from a
security point of view. Are there any security risks with it? It seem that
the PC is exposed to the Internet (and thus to hackers) only through the
first Virtual PC so the other Virtual PC is protected. Am I correct?

You can use a Differencing disk so that after a session you can discard any
changes. That way even if a hacker had gotten into your virtual system
anything that was done would be deleted. You start a new session with a
fresh copy of a virtual disk that you know has'nt been hacked, as you did'nt
go onto the Internet yet with it.
You would'nt save any of your changes or data however unless you copied it
to a shared folder for example on your computer.
