Shared Folders - not installed - after installing XP SP2

Hi. I have searched through the VPC forum for my answer but can't find
it...or missed it. Anyway, here's my problem, and what I did to get to this
point:

Problem: "Shared Folders" within my settings for my Windows XP Pro Guest O/S
says "Not installed".

At this point you are probably thinking "ah ha! you didn't install Virtual
Machine Additions !" but I did. Here's my host/guest configuration and what
I installed.

Host: Dell Precision M60, 2GB RAM, Windows XP Pro SP2

1. On this host I installed Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 followed by VPC SP1
(downloaded from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtualpc/downloads/sp1.mspx)
2. I then setup a new VPC Win XP Pro (SP1) guest
3. After that I installed SP2 for Microsoft XP on the guest
4. I then installed Virtual Machine Additions, so that I could access
folders on my host (the install seemed to work ok)
5. After shutting down the guest O/S and viewing the guest Settings from the
VPC PC Console, the "Shared Folders" setting is "Not installed".

Any ideas how to get shared folders working ? I tried removing and
reinstalling Virtual Machine Additions but nothing has changed. It appears
that installing MS XP SP2 causes a few headaches (for VPC) including
performance issues (found the posts on how to mitigate those issues but I'd
like to get the shared folders working first). Should I just uninstall the XP
SP2 from my guest?

Any ideas are welcome.

Regards,

Wayne
