Where is "Restore at Start" option?

Hello, all. I'm using SP1, and I think I've installed Virtual PC Additions
(because if I were to select this menu option on the Console, it would start
to display Virtual PC uninstall screen).

I read about the "Restore at Start" option in Virtual PC Help (Help ->
Virtual PC Help), but I can't seem to find this option anywhere. I meant I
did not see any dialog box being displayed at the beginning of the start up
of my virtual machine.

How do I enable this feature?

You will only have an option to restore from a saved state, meaning when you
have ended a session with "Save State" rather than a close. This is like
waking up from hibernation.

Right, for some reason I was thinking restore TO start.

Restore at start, this means that when you close the VPC List any
running VMs will be put into a Saved State. The next time you start
the VPC app, all the VMs that were running previously are restored.

Its under File-->Options, "Restore at Start"

I think I found a solution for my restoration problem. My main restoration
requirement is - I want to be able to quickly go back to point A of my
virtual machine after I've gone through point B, C, ....

This is my boss's suggestion and I think it's a simple solution to my
problem. He suggested that I should save the "Virtual hard drive file" of my
virtual machine at point A. Then, I can always create a virtual machine using
the Virtual Machine Wizard's "Add An Existing Virtual Machine" option.

Does that sound logical to everyone?

You should look at Differencing Drives in VPC help. That's probably
more like what you want.

Create one base image, then it can have have multiple child VMs that
are modifications of the base image. Children can also have their own
child VMs. If you want another base system, you simply create a new
child VM.
