Hi I am fairly new to this. We have a MSDN subscription here at work and at
my desktop pc I have Windows XP Pro. I installed Virtual PC on it, so far so
good. Now I want to install the Windows 2003 MSDN version into it, but how do
I do that? I have created a Virtual Machine and also a Virtual Hard Disk. As
the MSDN version is on the DVD and not a bootable CD I have no clue how to
start the installation when starting up the Virtual Machine. Who is able to
help me out?

What happens when you insert the dvd and capture the physical drive with the
virtual cd drive in your virtual machine? If you reset you should see a
menu. If 2003 does not appear as a selection, then download the .iso file
from MSDN and use the .iso file (it is not necessary to burn a cd). The
virtual cd drive is limited to 2.2GB but I have installed some platforms
from them.

MSDN also ships with ISO images of the operating systems. Either find
the DVD that contains the ISOs, and then mount the ISO (details are in
VPC help) or download the XP ISO from the MSDN web site and do the same.

Use the ISO for the OS and mount it to VPC.
