Choppy Sound Part II

Hi

We are trying to run some custom built software on an XP VPC machine but the
sound is not up to scratch. Is there any way of improving the sound quality
or upgrading to a better driver? We are running XP SP2 on both guest and VPC
and are using Virtual PC 2004 SP1 with the latest additions.. grateful for
any suggestions..

p.s before you ask we need to run the custom software on a vpc as it
conflicts with legacy apps required by the users and it does require top
notch sound

Unfortunately VPC sound emulation is not the best.

Use either VDMSound: Http://ntvdm.cjb.net
or DosBox Http://dosbox.sourceforge.net

VDMSound works on your host system in conjunction with NTVDM
DosBox is an emulator like VPC except much better....probably your best
bet for the best sound emulation.

You cannot use any other driver than the one for the SB16 emulted soundcard.
The virtual machine cannot use the host's soundcard directly.
