Message:This adds a little expense, but you might consider buying a router to
interface with your ISP connection. The router is then set to DHCP server
and any computer connected gets a new address. I have seven computers
connected (two running VPC with guests) and they all have different IP
addresses.

This is the same for virtual PCs as for real PCs: each PC must have
different IP addresses. So your remedy is not to configure your guest OS
with the same IP address as you are already using elsewhere. Configure your
guest OS to use a different IP address.

Message:You can't have 2 computers on the same net that uses the same IP address so
the error message is correct.
If it's because your ISP only gives you one IP address and you want both
computers to access the internet, you might want to use Shared networking
(NAT) mode instead of binding the VM directly the hosts NIC.
