Trouble installing Win 2000 Advanced Server on VPC 2004

I am very new to Virtual PC and need help on this issue.
I have it running on XP Pro SP2 and have installed Win 2000 Pro and 98 SE
without a glitch.
I am preparing for the MCSE and need to install Advanced Server but when I
follow the usual steps I am thwarted by the following error message, which I
quote verbatim:
"Windows 2000 requires a hard drive volume with at least 263 megabytes
(275863552 bytes) of free disk space. Setup will use part of this space for
storing temporary files during installation. The drive must be on a
permanently attached local hard disk supported by Windows 2000, and must not
be a compressed drive.
Setup was unable to locate such a drive with the required amount of free
space.
Setup cannot continue. Press ENTER to exit."
I was unable to get any ideas from the FAQ, Windows Help or other resources,
so please help.

Yes, I was relying on the wizard to do all that for me, since that is the
way it happened for 2KPro and 98SE.
Please explain how to assign a larger disk space to the VM and format it
with NTFS, I still don't know how to go manual in VPC.
If there is some good tutorial out there, please direct me to it.
