I installed the trial version of Virtual PC
I lost my network connection.
Uninstall -> Network connection OK
Downloaded SP1
Tried to install SP1, I was told to uninstall Virtual PC
Uninstalled Virtual PC
Tried to install SP1
I was told thar Virtual PC doesn't exist. Setup quit.
???

Also, its very unlikely that your problem is in any way related to the

I'm running XP PRO service pack 2.
Network connection is ADSL 512/256 megabits/s.
I lose my IP address as soon an Virtual PC is installed, not even started.
It seems that TCP/IP gets corrupted or blocked.

If Flemming is connecting directly to the ADSL modem - then it is quite
plausible that the modem disables itself if it detects the attached
network card going into promiscuous mode (which is what the Virtual
Machine Network Services driver does)
