My VPC works fine, but I can only connect to the internet through my host
(and then through my firewall/router and DSL). My problem is that the other
computers on my home network are not available. In fact, I get the "unable
to browse the network" error. I CAN use the other computer shared drives (as
X: Y: and Z:) but NOT using Network Neighborhood from the "guest" Win98
Explorer. What seems wierd to me is that I can get out through IE, but NOT
to local computers.

the VPC Options tell me that: Networking Adaptors (1) is using Shored
Networking (NAT). I can PING the other computers, but not connect to them.

For the "guest" networking I have the TCP/IP setup for DHCP enabled and my
Router set up as the DHCP server. This is the way all my computers are set
up.

out that "Virtual Machine Network Services" has to be running in the host
adapter. Rebooted the host and guest and all was OK.

Seems strange that IE could get through (and my email) but not see any local
computers. Oh Well.

Not really, this is a known issue when using NAT. Essentially, when
the guest traffic leaves through NAT, its got the same address info as
the host or any other computer, so its looking at itself.

If you want to have host-guest and guest-guest communication, you
can't use NAT, but must use Virtual Switch via selecting your hosts
NIC.
