Hi all,

We would like to supply our developers with a virtual develop environment on
their "standard" company PC. The standard PC should stay connected to the
production environment, the virtual image should only connect to the develop
environment. Although having two NIC's in the PC would be an obvious working
solution I wonder if you can have one NIC with two completely different
subnets connecting to one switchport (some sort of VLAN trunking?).

Yes, the Guest can be assigned an IP address in a

isolate the development network, using a separate
physical network is always better, irregardless of

I am working on the same issue. We have separated the development network
from the production using a firewall. We allow specified IP's through the
firewall into the development network. I would like to set up a VPC and
assign that V MAC to a different VLAN so that it automatically goes to the
development network. My data communication team tells me they can do it as
long as the PC supports 802.1q. Can we assign two different VLANs over a
card and wire? Installing two cards and wires (and associated switches,
managent, etc) can get expensive.
