i have host OS Windows XP SP2, Guest OS Windows XP SP2, (i would like using
NAT on Guest OS); however i don't see my host SQL Server instance if i use
NAT (I of course can see it when using static ip address on my guest OS).

On both, host and guest, i have installed SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition.
I would like exchange data via DTS between databases in both environments.
When trying to register my SQL Server (host or guest) i always get
connection problems. Is this problem due to SQL Server Developer Edition or
....?
Can i use NAT (instead of a static IP address) to use both db instances
(host and guest)?

do what you want.

If you want the Host and Guest to be able to talk, but be
isolated from the main network, set up the Microsoft
Loopback adapter on the Host. Then the Host and Guest can
be statically assigned on that interface to talk to each
other. Instructions for installing the loopback adapter
are in the VPC Help.

1. i have setup succesfully a loopback adapter and can connect from host to
guest and vice versa to SQL Server. I can succesfully connect by using the ip
address, but when using computer name to connect from host to guest iget the
message:
SQL Server does not exist or access denied. (so i cannot connect)
2. Is it still possible browsing the Internet from the gues OS when working
with a loopback adpater?

DNS knows anything about the virtual machine.
