Scripting commands for within a VPC

I intend to use a VPC as a test machine:

I'm going to setup a base installation (including XP, VS.net, and our
particular software package) and save that VHD as a Golden copy. Nightly, I
want to:

1. Not on the VPC, but on a separate test box (which will likely host the
VPC), build a bunch of software components.

2. Make a copy of the Golden VHD.

3. Start VPC with that copy

4. Overwrite files on the now-running VPC with the freshly-built files

5. On the VPC, run a test/regression suite

The trickiness comes into play at Steps 4 and 5. For Step 4, I could
probably run a script on the VPC host that will push the new files onto the
running VPC. However, I'd rather be in the context of the VPC, and pull the
files off the host.

For Step 5, I suppose I could give the VPC window focus, then send
keystrokes to fire off the test/regression suite? I think I have to do
something like that, since the script will be fired off initially from the
host-OS, so anything in the script will be executed in that context. Unless
there's a scripting API that lets me, e.g.:

testVPC = VirtualPC.NewSession( "testbox.vmc" );
testVPC.someMethod( );
testVPC.someOtherMethod( );

Any help, or any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
