certainly try it, although their later posting sounds
like they will be using a 2nd display for more standard

Message:VPC just shows up as another ol" window on your desktop. So you can set
your VPC resolution to 1280x1024 and you will have a bit of screen real
estate left over to see your desktop.

Message:As long as you don't run VPC in full screen mode, you can have it set to
1024x or 800x and the picture wont be fuzzy on the LCD, as it's then just a
window on your normal desktop.

Message:Plus, if you've got a Windows VM, you can simply drag the corner and
dymanically resize the window to whatever resolution you want.

Make sure that the tablet you purchase does not use the Transmeta Crusoe
processor or you won't be able to run VPC at all, regardless of the
resolution.

Message:Thanks - actually, I'll be using the laptop (XP Tablet) to demo apps via a
2nd, non TFT monitor, so I guess the situation will be:
First = Laptop monitor - TFT 800x or 1024x emulation (viewing quality a bit
fuzzy, because not 1400x1050 native)
Second = Display monitor (CRT 800x or 1024x) - sharp viewing quality due to
not being TFT -er, but of course that will be displaying the fuzzy pic from
the TFT... er, or will it??
Sorry, difficult to get my head around VPC when I haven't actually used it
yet!

Message:Hey, thanks folks
I've got a check in hand ready to purchase an XP Tablet and its things like
"1400 res with Virtual PC 2004???" that keep flashing through my mind as I'm
about to hand it over... ;O)
I'll look forward to my first VPC session now!

Isn't it possble to use that resolution if the additions are installed and
the window is maximized manually? You may have to decrease the number of
colors in the guets though. (I can't test as my CRT dosn't handle more than
1024x768).
